Canadian Rep Theatre is proud to announce our newest youth initiative: the FIRST ACTS high school playwrighting program!

FIRST ACTS title

MARCH 8-MAY 10, 2016

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

Are you a high school student with a passion for playwrighting? Bring your completed play, partial script, or play idea to Canadian Rep Theatre and work with Artistic Director KEN GASS, and other prominent Toronto theatre artists, to improve your play over a 10-week period. FIRST ACTS will meet every other week to workshop and discuss the plays and their progress. The program will culminate with a PUBLIC PRESENTATION of excerpts from the plays featuring PROFESSIONAL ACTORS.

INTERESTED? Send a letter of interest describing the play you want to workshop. Include a plot summary and a description of your progress on the play so far. Applications must also include a WRITING SAMPLE of the play (3-10 pages). Submit applications to Emily Johnston, Education & Outreach Coordinator, at emily@canadianrep.ca.

Application deadline: Thursday, February 25th, 2016.

There may be opportunities for student or teacher workshops relating to the plays in our season. For more information or to book a workshop with Canadian Rep, please contact Emily Johnston, Education & Outreach Coordinator, at emily@canadianrep.ca.
